Sea Turtle with Brusho for Beautiful Texture
Saturday, March 15th 12pm - 3pm $55 or $70 with all supplies including an 11x14 mat for your finished painting In this class, we will be using several methods with QoR Watercolors & Brusho Powdered Crystals to create the appearance of the turtle’s varied textures. His skin, wrinkles, and shell all have different surfaces that we will treat individually. You can choose your favorite image from the many references provided and you can paint either a very colorful or realistic sea turtle painting. You can choose your favorite image from several sketches to complete a beautiful and very colorful watercolor painting. |
Vibrant Tropical Bird of Paradise That Glows
Saturday, April 5th 12 pm - 3pm $55 or $70 with all supplies including an 11x14 mat for your finished painting In this class you’ll choose from a variety of beautiful tropical Bird of Paradise images, focusing on their velvety petals of vibrant dark and light colors. You’ll learn to allow pure color to mingle on the paper and create an amazing kaleidoscope of colors as we use Silver Brushes and Golden’s QoR watercolors. We’ll also explore ways to make your backgrounds subtle and yet exciting to complement your beautiful floral painting. Many reference images will be provided and No drawing skills are required. |
Exploring Color Theory Through Abstract Geometric Shapes
Sunday, April 13th 12pm - 3pm $55 or $70 with all supplies including an 11x14 mat for your finished painting While creating an abstract painting you will enjoy this fun way of “playing” with your paints, letting the unexpected happen, overlapping sections for color glazing combos and you will be building your painting skills as you experiment with all the colors in your palette. You will gain knowledge of color and brush skills that will enhance your future paintings. |
Seashell Mosaics in Watercolors
Saturday, April 26th 12pm - 3pm $55 or $70 with all supplies including an 11x14 mat for your finished painting This unique way to portray a wide variety of shells is also a wonderful way to practice wet-into-wet watercolor techniques and blending. First, we’ll lightly draw our shell images, then we begin to design the shells and their backgrounds with light applications of masking fluid using a unique process with a fine-line applicator. You can create one larger shell image of your choice or a variety of smaller shells in one painting. Finally, we’ll paint our backgrounds to make our designs even more exciting. |
A Rustic Barn in the Summer
Sunday, May 4th 12pm - 3pm $55 or $70 with all supplies including an 11x14 mat for your finished painting Capture the beauty and charm of weathered buildings. Paint may fade and iron may rust, but the character of buildings strengthens with age. You will work on developing perspective in your buildings and in capturing the charm of these old barns with their weather wood and peeling paint. Numerous watercolor techniques will be employed as we paint this scene using Golden’s QoR watercolors and Silver Watercolor Brushes. The loose background will add a touch of realism with soft wet-into-wet trees. No drawing skills are required. |

Bold & Beautiful Sunflowers

Stained Glass Effect of Transparent Colors Through the Trees

Sun-Drenched in Watercolor
Saturday, Jun 21st 12pm - 3pm $55 or $70 with all supplies including an 11x14 mat for your finished painting You’ll create a painting of cacti basking in the desert sun, with their deep green body exploding with vivid flowers in your choice of colors. You will paint shadows, rough textures, and softly glazed petals to make your painting feel as if it is coming alive with the delicate flowers. We will apply several different watercolor techniques such as wet-into-wet, glazing, charging, and adding salt and splatter. A reference drawing will be provided, so no drawing skills are required. |
