Everyone loves a beautiful sky and your landscape paintings will have more impact when you master a range of styles, from dawn to sunset, to a vividly clear day, to a thunderstorm,
to exploring the various characteristics of cloud formations and techniques for painting a wide variety of them.   You’ll leave with a comfort level for capturing the drama of all of these scenes and you will be adding excitement and diversity to your landscapes.

• Choose from any of Jen's painting classes or bring your own inspiration and Jen will lead you to create your own piece of art.  Sometimes we know our schedules don't match up with yours so Jen wanted to offer her students a unique opportunity to create the painting they were wanting to make but missed the class.  Please email Jen jen@redbrickart.com with what you would like to paint.   The sky is the limit, choose from a more traditional landscape to any animal to something more abstract, anything is possible in this class.

• Come create a sun-kissed wave in this colorful ocean-inspired class. Jen will teach you how to paint a vibrant sunset sky with a glistening sun, crashing wave, and magical light reflections.

​Learn to paint translucent Lotus Flowers, textured Lily Pads, and soft water in this fun class with Phyllis. You will learn a variety of techniques to create depth and layers as you create your own beautifully zen painting.  ​

Sunday, November 24th 1-4pm

• Mixed Media Fun and Functional Art with Jen Livia (class link)
• $64 each includes all supplies 
• Learn to create fun and functional art with stencils, stamps and free hand painting in this fun class where you create functional art that can be easily gifted to you or someone else.  Jen will teach you how to layer colors, stencils and add stamps to your piece focusing on color and texture. Jen will provide a variety of surfaces to print on including tote bags, small zip bags, small canvas and paper, but you are welcome to bring along additional materials to make extra pieces if time allows. We have a variety of subjects and styles to pick from so come with ideas or be inspired by what you see.

• ​Glass Mosaic Half-Day Class Ornaments and Rocks (class link)
• $64 each includes all supplies
• Choose from a variety of fun-shaped ornaments, rocks, or small wood pieces to transform into a colorful unique addition to your home.  We will lead you through all of the steps needed to create your pieces from choosing the best colors, design,  cutting, grouting, and more.  You will leave class with a finished piece ready to put into your house or garden.

Wednesday, December 4th 6-8pm

• Rainbow Jelly Paint Party at Deep Sea Tasting Room (class link)
  
• $39 each includes all supplies
• Spend a fun evening painting with Jen from Red Brick at Deep Sea Tasting Room at the Ventura Harbor. You will learn how to paint an undersea world with a colorful jellyfish duo and a bubbly background. Choose your own colors to make the painting your own you will learn a variety of fun painting techniques as you create your painting, no experience is needed.
• The Jellyfish will be pre-drawn onto your canvas to help make painting easier. 

Sunday, December 8th 11am-2pm

• Watercolor Holiday Cards with Phyllis Gubins (class link)
• $74 each includes all supplies
• Spend the day creating fun and whimsical Holiday Cards. Choose from a variety of subjects from Snowflakes, Trees, Santa, Ornaments, Reindeer, Lights, and more. Phyllis will teach you a variety of tricks and techniques to make your own cards. Take pictures and make reproductions of your pieces for added fun. 

Saturday, December 14th 11am - 3pm

• Ocean Ornament Painting Class with Marco Aguilar (class link)
• $70 (includes 3 blank ornaments and twine) or $80 with all supplies​
• Get in the spirit of a beachy holiday with Marco in this fun afternoon class where you paint 3 of your own beach ornaments including starfish, shell, and sand dollar. Marco will teach you how to paint the textured wood background, realistic shells with hi-lights and shadows that make them look like you could touch them. These will be so cute on your tree or make great gifts. ​

• Capture a fun beach holiday scene with sandy snowman, lights, surfboard. There are lots of ways to add your own personal touch to this painting including adding multiple sandy people to represent your family, a variety of festive accessories and more.

Sunday, January 4th 12p-3pm

• Walk in the Rain Watercolors with Phyllis Gubins (class link)
• ​​$49 or $64 with all supplies including an 11x14 mat for your finished painting
• Capture the feeling of a rainy day as you learn how to paint this scene in watercolors with Phyllis. You will learn a variety of techniques including how to use Mask, create salt textures, watercolor washes and even how to create a feeling of transparency with your paint. You will leave this class with a finished painting and a variety of techniques that can be applied to various subjects.

Sunday, January 5th 1-4pm

• Stamp Making, Printing and More! with Jen Livia (class link)
• $75 Includes all supples
• In this fun workshop you will learn the steps to create your own hand carved stamp which we will use to create several prints on traditional and unique surfaces. Choose from a variety of inspiration including ocean themes, florals, holiday and more, or bring your own image that we can turn into a unique stamp. Once you create your test prints and refine your piece you will make cards, gift bags, prints you can frame and even a couple dishtowels. Bring your own materials to print on and Jen will help you make lots of pieces to take home. You can also make extra prints from our own handmade stamps (30+ to choose from) so you will leave with a variety of pieces. 

Wednesdays Jan 8th - 29th 1am - 2pm

• Winter Wonderland Watercolor Series (class link)
• $200 each plus $60 material fee due at the 1st day of class
• First you’ll learn how reflected light, cast shadows and misty fog can be used to convey a snowy mountain landscape, next we’ll paint the evening glow of a winter sunset on lush snow-covered evergreens, then let’s enjoy painting  frozen mountain streams with  beautiful backgrounds & lastly capture the beauty of animals in winter’s snow.

• Zen Moment Acrylics with Marco Aguilar (class link)

• ​Paint the day away with Marco in this Koi class full of textures, movement and depth. You will learn a variety of techniques as Marco leads you in painting your own version of this 3 koi painting. Learn to paint a rocky ground, moving water, bubbles and these two fish.

• $120 each or 2 for $200
• Learn to create your own 3D mosaic critter or rectangle picture in this super fun and relaxing class.  These pieces are perfect for your wall indoors or out.  You will learn all the steps needed to create your piece from start to finish including designing your piece, color choices, cutting glass, gluing, and grouting. You will leave class with a piece ready to hang.  These all-day classes are larger projects than the half-day workshops with more details and customization.

• ​Dreamy Landscapes in Acrylics with Jen Livia (class link)
• $49 each or $64 with all supplies
• In this colorful and messy class with Jen, you will learn to create using fluid acrylics, heavy-body acrylics, and hi-flow acrylics to create a dreamy landscape. You will learn how and when to control color mixing and when to let the magic happen on its own. We will work with these vibrant and fun paints to create dramatic skies, mountains, trees, and much more.
