Stamp Making, Printing and More!
Sunday, January 5th 1-4pm $75 Includes all supples In this fun workshop you will learn the steps to create your own hand carved stamp which we will use to create several prints on traditional and unique surfaces. Choose from a variety of inspiration including ocean themes, florals, holiday and more, or bring your own image that we can turn into a unique stamp. Once you create your test prints and refine your piece you will make cards, gift bags, prints you can frame and even a couple dishtowels. Bring your own materials to print on and Jen will help you make lots of pieces to take home. You can also make extra prints from our own handmade stamps (30+ to choose from) so you will leave with a variety of pieces. |
Dreamy Landscapes
Saturday, January 25th, 1-4pm $49 each or $64 with all supplies In this colorful and messy class with Jen, you will learn to create using fluid acrylics, heavy-body acrylics, and hi-flow acrylics to create a dreamy landscape. You will learn how and when to control color mixing and when to let the magic happen on its own. We will work with these vibrant and fun paints to create dramatic skies, mountains, trees, and much more. Supplies needed for class include: Variety of Fluid Acrylic Paints Variety of Hi-Flow Paints Canvas (Round or Rectangle) Variety or Brush shapes and sizes Heavy Body Acrylics (not required) |
Fruits and Flowers
Saturday, February 8th 1-4pm $49 each or $64 with all supplies Create a couple of mini paintings in this fun colorful class, you can choose from a variety of fruits or flowers. These little paintings are a great addition to any kitchen or shelf, they add a pop of color anywhere you place them. Jen will teach you how to add layers of color and how to use her favorite Glazing Liquid to make your paintings have a sense of depth and look so real you could smell them. If you bring your own supplies 6x6, 8x8, or 8x10 canvases are recommended. Bring multiple smaller pieces if you want to explore a variety of ideas. |
Class Supplies Recommended
The better your supplies the easier it is to paint and learn. If you have any questions please feel free to give Jen a call 805-827-1095, please note you do not need everything below, this is what I like. Canvas - 12x12, 11x14 or 16x20 Brushes - Brand I recommend Silver Brush several sizes ans shapes including: Filbert, angle, large wash brush and small round or liner. This is a great place to purchase any of the brushes from Silver Brush Some of the brushes I like the best are: Firmer brush Bristlon Brushes, softer brush Black Pearl and my most favorite (and more expensive) Monza Medium -Golden Acrylic Glazing Liquid Paints - There are so many colors to choose from, this is a list of some of my favorites. Brand that I suggest is Golden Heavy Body Acrylics for most painting you can get a set of basic colors to get you started and add from there. Must Have Color - Titanium White Neutrals

Instructor: Jen Livia is a native Californian, receiving her art degrees from UC San Diego, San Francisco Art Institute and Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She is a Golden Working Artist for Golden Artist Colors and Silver Brush Educator presenting lectures, demonstrations and workshops in acrylics, watercolors, and mosaics in Central California. She has been painting since she was a kid and teaching art for over a decade. She teaches over 3,000 people a year in Ventura's Elementary Schools and at Red Brick. Her knowledge of painting and the all of the GOLDEN Artist products will hopefully help inspire you and she looks forward to helping any level of painter develop their own creativity.
